Smaller Towns and Villages
City people desperate to get out often move first to smaller towns or villages because deep country places are rare or dear.
In many towns (eg. Oswestry, Crewe and Durham) and mining villages, there are terraced houses - 2 up 2 down - available for relatively small sums.
If you make it that far you have a chance to look around at your leisure for some land to go with it, either by pressing for an allotment or by buying or renting farm land. See 'From Ideas to Practice'.
