I will put these on my list, Kaleopono. Thanks.

Shortly after the Littleton murders, someone forwarded me a long article that
I cannot now locate -- it was by someone who made a living showing how our
culture is brainwashing children and youth to commit acts of violence through
primarily entertainment media. It was a compelling article. One thing that
stood out in my mind was, when this guy goes around to schools to promote his
anti-brainwashing program, one of the things he does is to show a video clip
of a violent tragedy -- and the universal response to these clips is audience
laughter. He then goes through how this is a programmed response. Chilling,
but the audiences evidently seem to get it.

On the consumption front, this is where we are up against so much. People are
programmed to believe that all the crap that we buy is actually beneficial --
if not to them personally then to the economy (read, their livelihood,
investments, etc). I'm not sure how I became de-brainwashed, because I have
been there and find that I need constant vigilance to keep from going back.
And I'm sure there are areas in which I have not yet *awakened*.

Learning more about this is a key to involving more people in our endeavors
to keep corporations from taking over the world, I believe.

Blessings, Priscilla
