Isn't that what we're arguing about -- labelling foods so we KNOW if
it's non-GMO or not? I do buy only explicitly non-GMO soy products. If
there is nothing about GMO on the label, I don't buy it. But how do I
know if I buy something with soybean oil in it whether it is a GMO --
chances are it is, so I shouldn't buy anything with corn, soybean oil,
etc., in it? What about "simple" vegetables and fruits -- how do I know
what they contain? I grow what I can myself but and even then I have to
be careful to choose seeds from companies that explicitly tell me they
use non-GMO sources only.
It would be a lot better for consumers (i.e., citizens) if we could know
what we are buying. Then I would be glad to make my choice. Until I
know, I can't choose.
