** Your choice (of what to do). Now it's several days later it'll be more
obvious to you which ones we would appreciate your sending to the list. I
have to admit I read very few, but those few make it "worth it".

Topica's. ... other Positive Futures list members have been frozen out with
no warning in the past. I have asked Topica tech support to get to the
bottom of this and do whatever is necessary to make certain that no list
member is ever again dropped without warning and without consent.

** This is what I said in response to Topica's only acknowledgement that I
"was having trouble" (there was no response to this) :-

Yes, I re-subscribed (after first cancelling), so your records /would/
show what you've said.
** In my note you responded to (and thank you for that), I had said:
>- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

** Here is the sequence (it happened earlier in the year as well) :-
(1) a day or more goes by with nothing from the Positive Futures list, when
usually there is an average of 75 kB of mail per day.
(2) I try to post a letter (I usually post two or more times a week), but
get an "error message" like:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
To: David MacClement <davd@ihug.co.nz>
From: Natasha <support@get.topica.com>
Subject: Your recent message to Topica.com
Date: Thu, 30 Nov 2000 08:21:49 -0800
You recently sent a message,
Luna's been slashed.
to positive-futures. This is a restricted list, which means that only
subscribers of the list can post to it. Our records indicate that you
are not a member of the list.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
(3) I try to subscribe, but get the un-explainable message:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
To: davd@ihug.co.nz
From: Topica Support <support@get.topica.com>
Subject: Your request to positive-futures@igc.topica.com
Date: Mon, 27 Nov 2000 14:33:19 -0800
You recently tried to subscribe to the positive-futures email
list, but our trusty computers say you're already subscribed.
You may already be subscribed with another email address.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
(4) Without changing anything (i.e. continuing to use: davd@ihug.co.nz as
my return address), I un-subscribe - all of these actions by e-mail - then
re-subscribe after getting the acknowledgement:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Subject: Goodbye from 'positive-futures'
Date: Mon, 27 Nov 2000 15:44:20 -0800
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
(5) After waiting for the acknowledgement of my subscribing, I post the
letter I started to 10 minutes before; it does appear with all the others
that now come in.
** Now, if this happened when Topica was doing some up-grading of hardware
(or software) I might be able to accept it, but when it happens twice in 4
days (just after: Fri, 24 Nov 2000 21:20:16 -0800, and just after: Tue, 28
Nov 2000 17:07:52 -0800), there's something so wrong with /your/ Topica
system that some expert needs to be brought in to investigate.
I am therefore requesting (politely, this time) an answer to my question:
>· I want to know _why_ I have been cut off twice in 4 days!
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_X_
** As I said; no response. That was sent at 07:43 2/12/2000 +1300.
David.
