If you ever have a chance to go to their farm in Harborside, Maine, 
be sure to go.  We moved back to Maine the fall of '95 and Helen died 
in a car accident a few weeks later.  There is now a trust 
organization that takes care of the Nearing's farm so that it 
lives on.  We visited in '98 and were able to walk around the garden, 
the greenhouse, and downstairs in their home.  Things were left as 
they were when Helen was living, in fact, her shoes are still by the 
door.
