Betsy,
We have no valid disagreements.
The Green Parties are on an upward curve.
If you want a 20 year history of the Green electoral political history
read John Rensinbrink's history of the Green Parties. You'll see that from
the beginning politics was the frontal piece, movement was second.
If you don't I'd also urge you to read "The Progress Populist" pariticularly
Micah Sifry's article "Whither Nader and (his) Greens" in the Decmeber 1,
issue.
He points out that "Nader who put the Greens on the map is not a Green and
does not intend to become one" [nor are Ivins, Hightower, Granny "D" and the
whole network that made the Greens known], and that Nader and his non-Green
staff plan to stay in business building the Green party and the progressive
movement.
With the root action at the local as state level and the attention the Nader
office will give the Greens on the national front there is hope that by 2002
the Greens could have representation in Congress as well as many local
offices. And by 2004 the elected president will have to have a coat of
Green.
KEEP UP YOUR GOOD WORKS
