RE: [pf] Disposable contacts

Thanks to you disposable experts for giving me some info that I have
followed up on. According to Johnson and Johnson (makers of Acuvue
disposable lenses and therefore *not* neutral), less plastic is used in a
year's supply of disposable lenses than in a credit card.
Any thoughts on the energy use, etc., used to make such lenses?
As for glasses, lenses and frames can be recycled for others' use through a
variety of means. Usually, though, we keep our glasses for a cycle through
the next pair so that we have a back-up. Then it gets donated.
Anyway, my husband and I will have to re-think what's the best choice.
Thanks again to my p-f friends,
Diane
